With this FAQ we hope to answer all your questions in order for you to feel secure to join us!
What kind of previous education do I need to have?
To apply for the program you meed to have completed a hight level dance school
What is the minimum age for applying to MadayArt's program?
You must be at least 18 years old before entering the program.
What is the application deadline?
For season 2024/2025: we accept applications until all spots are taken.
When will i get an answer?
Within 72 hours after we've received your application
What do I need to include in my video audition?
In the video you must include:· Introducing yourself with a few sentences in english, followed by explaining the reason why you would like to join MadayArt. But most importantly, show us your best dancing! A couple of ballet exercises in the center, contemporary technique and improvisation. If you choose to put a group work into your application video, make sure the management is clearly able to recognize you!
What if I'm not able to make the required video in a studio?
If you are not able to make the video in a studio you can apply with a video made at home. But please keep in mind our requirements!
Is there a waiting list?
No, there is no waiting list.
Is there a registration fee?
No, there is no registration fee to audition.
What happens after my confirmation?
The candidates admitted to MadayArt who want to confirm their participation have to sign a contract to accept the rights and duties of the program and have to pay the first installment of the season within 2 weeks after receiving the acceptance e-mail! 
If I am admitted, how much time do I have to make a decision?
Once you are admitted you will receive a statement of commitment. You will have 2 weeks to make a final decision and return your signed contract to us as well as transferring the tuition fee. Once you have signed the statement and sent the tuition fee, you are registered and expected to attend the program.
In case I am not accepted, can I get feedback?
Due to organisational reasons it is not possible to give feedback based on the application.
Is there a difference in the international tuition fee?
There is no difference in the tuition fee. Members coming from all over the world pay the same tuition. However - if you submit your application before the 31st of March your tuition fee -instead of 3000€- will be only 2400€.
How can I pay my tuition?
You have 2 options:
Option 1: One installment
Option 2: Two installments - Dancers are required to pay 1500€ as their first installment within 2 weeks after receiving the acceptance e-mail! . The rest of the amount will be required to be payed till the 31st of July 2024. 
How much is the tuition fee?
The tuition fee for the whole season
For EARLY BIRDS:  is 2400€  - dancers submitting their application before the 31st of March 2024
For LATE BIRDS: 3000€  - dancers submitting their application after the 31st of March 2024
Which means:
1 month = 266 to 333€
1 week = about 66 to 83€
1 day = about 13 to 16.5 €

This shows that you get to pay under 3€ per hour, even for classes with international teachers that would otherwise cost between 40€ and 100€ for a 3hour workshop.
Admitted dancers will have to pay the program's fee in a maximum of 2 installments.
What does my tuition cover?
The program is financially self-sustained and the participation fee covers the salary of teachers, their travel and accommodation, studio rental, bills, house keeping, everyday needs for the studio, video and photo documentation and editing fees, costumes, administration and other organisational expenses. 
If I am invited to be a member of MadayArt, does the center offer accommodation during the season? 
MadayArt does not have the capacity to offer accommodation during the season
Is there an official institution behind the company?
The Foundation for Contemporary Dance Art and COTEDA Kortárs Nonprofit Közhasznú Korlátolt FelelÅ‘sségű Társaság strongly secures the payment to be a 100% official. 
What is the working language at MadayArt? 
The working language is English. 
Is MadayArt a full-time or part-time program?
MadayArt is a full-time program. The average time spent in classes and rehearsals is 25 hours per week.
What are the working hours of the program? 
MadayArt works every weekday. The  5 hour daily work will be between 12:00 - 18:00 . Taking this schedule into consideration, dancers are allowed to work elsewhere next to the program. Keep in mind that the schedule might change periodically .
How many creation periods will dancers have during the season?
The members of MadayArt will have two creations during the season, next to the existing repertoire learning.
Is MadayArt a private or a state school? Is it a university?
MadayArt is a private educational experience. We do not provide any accredited diploma.​
When does the season start and end? 
The seasonal year begins on the 2nd of September 2024 and finishes on the 15th of June 2025. Exact dates to be confirmed. We count 9 month outside of the  breaks during the season such as autumn break, Christmas and spring holiday.
How does the daily work look like at MadayArt?
MadayArt mostly focuses on contemporary dance techniques. Dancers will have two technique classes a day, followed by either repertoire workshop, workshop of contemporary dance or creation, body awareness courses such as soft tissue balancing or how to prevent injury, ect..
How can I find accommodation in Budapest?
Upon acceptance you will receive (by e-mail) a list of websites to search for a room or apartment in Budapest. Please note that Budapest is a well visited city and since we have many universities, student housing fills quickly. We advise you to search for a room or house  immediately after you are admitted into the company.
How much are living expenses and accommodation in Budapest?
A room in an apartment with other students can cost between 300 and 400 euros. Some dancers also share a room to divide the costs. Living expenses are comparable with those of bigger European cities.
How easily can I get a job in order to support myself ?
Because MadayArt is a full-time study program, dancers can find a job after the program from early evening on. Members usually work following this schedule or during the weekend in order to cover their own expenses.
Can I get support from the state of Hungary?
It is best to try to get scholarships from your own country. We can connect you with current students who may be able to help you find scholarship opportunities in your home country.
Does the company provide any official paper to help my stay in Budapest?
Having the Foundation for Contemporary Dance Art as our maintainer we can provide all the necessary documents you need in order to help with your visa, your living in Budapest and your travel circumstances.
If I have been admitted to the program but cannot attend, is it possible to come for the following year?
If you decide not to attend this year you will have to reapply next year.
What happens if the program is effected by corona virus?
Depending on the restrictions, our program may go online to continue our daily work. Experiencing different states of restriction, the program will aim to adjust in the best way it can.
Are dancers allowed to use the studio outside of the program's schedule?
​Yes. Whenever the studio is available, dancers can freely reserve  and use the studio.
